Summer History Walks: Pre-registration Required

***COVID-19 OPERATIONS ANNOUNCEMENT***

Due to current COVID-19 Pandemic, all outdoor history walks will be operated under new safety guidelines. Visitors wishing to attend a history walk are required to reserve and pay for their spaces in advance by registering online or calling the museum at 440-774-1700. Tours will not venture indoors and will be limited to 9 participants to maintain appropriate physical distancing. Docents are required to wear masks and we ask that our visitors consider doing the same if possible. We at the Oberlin Heritage Center appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our new guidelines. Freedom’s Friends: Underground Railroad & Abolitionist History Walk: Prior to the Civil War, as many as 3,000 African Americans passed through or lived in Oberlin after escaping from slavery. Learn about Oberlin’s famous freedom seekers and those known to have helped them make their way to freedom on the Underground Railroad.

History Walks take place every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in June, July and August. History Walks start at the First Church of Oberlin.
