Oberlin Heritage Center’s Bed & Breakfast Program 2023

The Oberlin Heritage Center’s Bed & Breakfast program is an ongoing fundraiser that helps supply income for this organization by offering lodging in local homes to families of Oberlin College students and prospective students. Volunteer hosts provide sleeping space, continental breakfast and a hospitable atmosphere to their guests. It’s a win-win-win situation: families arriving for Orientation and other college events find lodging, OHC gains needed operating funds and B&B hosts have a rewarding experience introducing visitors to the Oberlin community.

OHC B&B for New Student Orientation, Parents’ Weekend, All Roads Lead to Oberlin,  Commencement and throughout the year is available for stays of at least two nights. We accept requests for Orientation starting in July, Parents’ Weekend starting in September and for Commencement beginning in March of that year. Requests for other times will be accommodated when possible.

The 2023 charge is $100 per night for a single guest or for a couple sharing the same room (usually one double or queen size bed). There is an additional charge of $25 per night for each incoming student or sibling in a separate bed (usually a twin bed, futon or pull-out). Our homes are in Oberlin and the nearby outskirts and are all nonsmoking. Our hosts are fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19 and we can only accommodate guests who have been fully vaccinated. We’ll provide confirmation after we receive the information requested below and have verified that we can provide the requested lodging. We have a limited number of placements. We will then request payment in full to reserve the housing. All fees will be paid directly to the Oberlin Heritage Center; our hosts are donating their homes and hospitality. Host contact information is sent after the lodging fee is paid. We’re happy to refund payments in full as long as the cancellation is prior to the reservation start date.

If you would like to be a guest in our B&B program, please send the following information to our email: [email protected] (We are not able to accept requests by phone.)

1. Name, email address, phone number(s), and home address of contact person.

2. Dates of requested nights with names of all guests for each night requested and whether parent/adult or student.

3. Any allergies, such as to pets, that would affect where we place you.

4. Will you have a car? (Some of our hosts live outside an easy walking distance to campus.)

5. Have all guests been fully vaccinated for COVID-19?

6. Other considerations or special requests.

We honor requests on a first-come, first-served basis as possible.

We’re pleased to be able to offer this service to Oberlin College students and their families. Feel free to contact us with any questions at [email protected].
