Special Offerings for Oberlin College's 2023 Parents Weekend:

*Open to the Public and Visitors of Oberlin College*


November 3-5 (Friday-Sunday)

The Oberlin Heritage Center offers a number of options for guided and self-guided tours during this special weekend. Tour fees range from $3-$6 for adults; OHC members and children under 18 enjoy ALL tours free.

Drop-in visitors are welcome for the self-guided Oberlin Origins tour of the Monroe House or to reserve an outdoor tablet tour, while all other tours and history walks require advance registration. Please click on a history walk below for more information and to make an online reservation.

In case of rain at start time, the tour/history walk will be cancelled, and fees refunded.

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM  –  Oberlin Origins Self-Guided Tour of the Monroe House (no reservation required; last entry at 2:30 PM; $3/adult)

 

10:00 AM - 3:00 PM  –  Self-Guided Tablet ToursPicture the Past: Downtown Oberlin or Freedom's Friends: Abolition & the Underground Railroad (tablets rented at the Monroe House at 73 1/2 S. Professor St.; no reservation required but recommended; last rental at 2:00 PM; $5/tablet/hour or $20/tablet/day)

 

1:30 PM - 2:15 PMGuided Tour of the Jewett House at 73 Professor Street (space is limited; advance registration required; $4/adult, free for college students and children)

 

 

Saturday, November 4

Space is limited to 50 participants.

*This tour is completely full and we are no longer taking reservations. Individuals who are interested in attending this tour are welcome to show up at the tour start time and location to see if spaces have opened up. Only cash can be accepted at tour start time.*

 

2:00 PM - 3:15 PMArchitecture History Walk (this walk begins at the Flagpoles in the SE corner of Tappan Square - corner of Main & College Sts.; $6/adult, $5/college student, free for children)

*Space is limited to 35 participants

 

 

Sunday, November 5

10:30 AM - 11:45 AM -  Architecture History Walk (this walk begins at the Flagpoles in the SE corner of Tappan Square - corner of Main & College Sts.; $6/adult, $5/college student, free for children)

1:30 PM - 3:00 PMCivil War to Civil Rights History Walk (this walk begins on the front steps of First Church in Oberlin at 106 N. Main St.; $6/adult, $5/college student, free for children) 

*Space is limited to 20 participants
