December 10 (Tuesday, 7:15 p.m.) Oberlin's Historic Links to Faith Healing

Historian Matthew Hintz presents an illustrated program about faith healing, a religious movement that was particularly prevalent in the late 1800s and early 1900s. He will highlight Oberlin residents connected to the movement and their impact on its regional organizational structure and revivals. Hintz, a native of Elyria, is finishing his doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina Greensboro next year. He received a Frederick B. Artz Summer Scholar Research Grant to do research at the Oberlin College Archives in 2017. Hintz presented another program, "Religiosity and Reform," for the Heritage Center in 2013. Location: Kendal at Oberlin's Heiser Auditorium.
