Sept - Tours / Exhibit at OHC with the Museum of Hispanic and Latino Cultures

The Oberlin Heritage Center is pleased to work with the Museum of Hispanic and Latino Cultures of Lorain to offer a special exhibit in OHC's 1866 Monroe House. Artifacts and art from Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, Peru, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras and more will be on display in the intimate setting of a historic house. This collaboration of museums will celebrate different cultures, honor shared and distinct histories, and draw community members together. There are several ways to explore the exhibit (proceeds support the missions of both museums):
- Enjoy a guided 90-minute Bilingual Spanish and English "Upstairs/Downstairs" Tour of OHC's three historic buildings, which combines Oberlin history with the special exhibit. This tour is offered Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The cost is $6/adults; $5 for OHC members; and free for children and any college student. Advance registration is encouraged.
- Experience a guided 90-minute English-speaking "Upstairs/Downstairs" Tour of OHC's three historic buildings, combining Oberlin history with the special exhibit. The tour is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The cost is $6/adults; $5 for OHC members; and free for children and college students. Advance registration is encouraged.
- Take part in a guided 45-minute English-speaking tour of the Special Exhibit only. This tour is offered Thursdays at 5:15 p.m. The cost is $3/adult; $2 for OHC members; and free for children and college students. Advance registration is encouraged.
- Learn at your own pace on a Self-Guided Special Exhibit Tour offered Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The cost is $3/adults; $2 for OHC members; and free for children and college students.
