Friday, October 18, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Oberlin Heritage Center will once again join other area museums and educational organizations in hosting free and fun activities for kids during Community Arts and Culture Day. This is a day when kids in Ohio have no school because of NEOEA teacher conferences. This year's Arts and Culture Day theme is "Capture the Moment," tying in with the Allen Memorial Art Museum's current exhibits featuring realism, or portrayals that are true to life. There will be activities from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and activities at the four sites will include games, drawing in different art styles, delving into the real and surreal, and exploring historic photographs and antique cameras. Visitors to the Oberlin Heritage Center's Little Red Schoolhouse will get to see what children's life was like in the past, by looking at historic images and trying historic games in the schoolyard. Kids will also get to see a few antique cameras. (Sorry parents, your first model might be on display as an antique).
