Read volunteer docent Ron Gorman's continuing series about the anti-bellum era. His new post is about two women who led very different lives and met under tragic circumstances. One was Lucy Stone, a white abolitionist and orator educated at Oberlin College. The other was Margaret Garner, a black mother whose escape from slavery ended in desperation rather than freedom.
