Nov 10 - Oberlin in the 1930s & 1940s

November 10 (Tuesday, 7:15 p.m.) Members of the Oberlin Heritage Center's Oral History Committee will read excerpts from transcribed oral history interviews focusing on Oberlin in the 1930s and 1940s. You'll enjoy hearing the personal stories of an array of people who lived in the Oberlin area during the Depression and its aftermath.  Among the topics included will be helping others, public works projects, college-town relations, stores selling on credit, bank failures, and living full lives when money was in short supply. Sound familiar? Yes, there are many parallels with what is happening in our country today.

Among those whose interviews will be featured are Millie Arthrell, Harold Gibson, George Jones, Mary Hobbs Joy, Frank Locke, Pat Stetson, Bob Thomas, Eugene Tresch, and Frank Zavodsky. This free program will be presented at Kendal at Oberlin.
