Blog - 150th Anniversary of the Battle of New Market Heights

The Battle of New Market Heights was one of several engagments that took place during the drawn-out siege of Petersburg during the fall of 1864.  Ron Gorman's latest blog post includes a review of the battle and the gallant role of the 5th United State Colored Infantry, which included Oberlin soldiers. September 29, 2014 will mark the 150th anniversary of this Civil War battle.
