In Memory of Kurt Breunig

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Kurt Breunig, an active board member of the Oberlin Heritage Center.  Kurt participated in several committees and worked to fulfill the mission of the organization, to make our community a better place to live, learn, work and visit.  He will be missed here and by many more.

Kurt A. Breunig, J.D., 59, of Grafton passed away Tuesday November 12, 2013 following a sudden illness. He was born January 3, 1954 in Cleveland. Kurt was a practicing Attorney at Law in Elyria for the past 34 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, and enjoyed fly fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Patricia (nee-Ponchock); sons, Erik (Kelly) Breunig of Elyria, Brian Breunig of Elyria and Kyle (Amanda) Breunig of Grafton; mother, Eleanore Breunig of Highland Heights; brother, Bruce Breunig of Canfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Breunig. The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday November 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Seidman Cancer Center 11100 Euclid Ave. Cleveland, OH. 44106.
