Dec 6 - A Glimpse Across the Pond

December 6 (Tuesday, 7:15 p.m.)

Presenters: Lucy Haskell (OC 2020), David Kaplovitz (OC 2017), Alexandra Nicome (OC 2017)

OHC is privileged to work with several college student interns and volunteers, who help with all manner of museum responsibilities. Join us for a fun end-of-year, illustrated program about some of their travels and life experiences. Lucy Haskell is a first-year at Oberlin College and she will be talking about her year spent in Spain and London. It was a full year, so she will focus on her months volunteering at a historic house near London and walking the Camino de Santiago across Northern Spain. David Kaplovitz, a new student volunteer at the Oberlin Heritage Center, will share his experiences working on an active archaeological dig, excavating a historic medieval castle in rural Belgium in Summer 2015. David is a fourth year History major from the Detroit, MI area. Alexandra Nicome is an Art History major, Africana Studies minor from Minneapolis. She spent the spring 2016 semester in London with Oberlin College professors and peers, where she studied national identities and museum narratives.  This program is free and open to the public. Location: Kendal at Oberlin's Heiser Auditorium (600 Kendal Drive)
