Summer History Walks

Once warm weather returns to northeast Ohio, so will OHC's popular outdoor history walk on the Underground Railroad.

Update 7/19/19: The history walk for this Saturday, July 20th has been cancelled due to extreme heat expected in the region. Please consider signing up for one of our other Freedom's Friends Underground Railroad and Abolitionist History Walks taking place every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in July & August. Freedom’s Friends: Underground Railroad & Abolitionist History Walk: Prior to the Civil War, as many as 3,000 African Americans passed through or lived in Oberlin after escaping from slavery. Learn about Oberlin’s famous freedom seekers and those known to have helped them make their way to freedom on the Underground Railroad.

History Walks take place every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in June, July and August. History Walks start at the First Church of Oberlin.
