Summer Camps

Oberlin Heritage Center's Hands-On History Camps

Summer 2017 will feature three themed camps!

Oberlin Ahoy! Pirates and Life on the High Seas

July 17-21 (Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Set sail with us in search of fun and adventure! Campers will learn about the history of pirates, including the famous Blackbeard and Anne Bonny. We will explore how people navigated the seas, what a sailor's life was like, how to create maps, and much more through engaging hands-on activities! Registration for this camp is now closed.

Architecture Camp

July 31-August 4 (Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Children will love learning the basics of architecture in this hands-on camp. Together, we will tour Oberlin architecture, explore building materials, try construction challenges, sketch designs, construct mini buildings, and envision buildings of the future.  Scouts attending this camp will also complete some requirements for Architecture badges. Registration for this camp is now FULL.

History of Theater

August 7-11 (Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Children attending this camp will experience not only the dramatic history of theater, but also what happens behind the scenes. This camp focuses on how theater evolved over time and the influence of plays and musicals on culture. As a part of the camp, children will create their own mini theatrical production to perform at the end of the week. Registration for this camp is now FULL.
